Grootbos Exhibition at The Gallery at Grande Provence
Arabella’s Grootbos exhibition at the Gallery at Grande Provence on the 7th of February 2015 was a great success. Art lovers from across Cape Town enjoyed a balmy summers evening in Franschhoek enjoying the art on display that included Arabella’s recent sculptures, paintings and drawings.

The centrepiece of the exhibition was Arabella’s monumental work “Grootbos”, inspired during her stay in the unrivalled Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, close to Hermanus. Nestled between mountain and sea, this beautiful nature reserve showcases the incredible flora and marine life of the southern tip of Africa, including the protected Milkwood tree, many of which are over 800 years old.
Arabella’s FOREST PAINTING, ten meters in width and over two meters in height, has an eerie, magical feeling about it that captures the essence of these fast vanishing forests.
Included as part of the installation at Grande Provence were Arabella’s aluminium sculptures that emulate the beautiful trees found in the Grootbos Nature Reserve.
